After a long pause in in-person Forum meetings, we are pleased to announce that the next in-person Steering Committee meeting will take place Tuesday, November 7th at the California Dept of Fish and Wildlife office in Santa Rosa, CA. A project site visit is planned for Wednesday, November 8th. At this meeting, we want to discuss how the Forum can facilitate federal funding opportunities through BIL and other programs with fish passage project proponents seeking funding. Since the Forum has relatively small amounts of funding to award projects, this discussion will also cover cost share strategies and utilizing the experience and permitting perspective that the Forum signatories have.
The impact of the California Fish Passage Forum is based on cooperation between Forum members and regional and local fish passage proponents. The Steering Committee meeting in Santa Rosa is an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Forum, connect with representatives from federal and state agencies as well as private state and national organizations, and share information on critical funding opportunities including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding.
