The Forum is proud to support two projects in 2025, both in Sonoma county.
Adobe Creek Barrier Assessment, Design and Permitting, led by Sonoma County Public Infrastructure, will fund preliminary engineering design and permitting to replace a failed bridge and fish ladder at the Old Adobe Road crossing of Adobe Creek, within Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park near Petaluma in Sonoma County. Replacing this structure will restore volitional passage for Central California Coast steelhead and other anadromous fish to upstream spawning and rearing habitat in the Petaluma River watershed, ending more than a decade of annual juvenile stranding at the site.

The Dutch Bill Creek Market Street Weir Repair Fish Passage Improvement Project, led by Gold Ridge Resource Conservation District, will fund engineering design and permit preparation to repair a failed weir near Camp Meeker in west Sonoma County, at the site of the original 2009 Dutch Bill Creek Barrier Elimination Project. Repairing the weir will restore passage for endangered coho salmon and threatened steelhead trout on this Russian River tributary, reopening roughly 0.21 miles of coho and 1.74 miles of steelhead spawning and rearing habitat, including reaches that retain cold water even through drought years.
